Today I met with the NSW Director of the Churchill Trust. Since being awarded the Fellowship, I have found the weight of the responsibility daunting and shared this with him. In response he said, ‘Lang, this award is a celebration of the confidence that many have placed in you’.
And in a flood of gratitude I thought of not only the panellists who saw enough potential to give me this amazing opportunity. But of all the people who have supported me on my journey up until this point. You know who you are.
So this will be my last post until I leave for Japan on Monday June 30, 2008. From this moment on, every second I have, every ounce of my energy will be devoted to this project.
So excited about seeing Holly Throsby next weekend! She’s playing at a little quaint venue far, far away. Her music reminds me of stormy weather and the lyrics are so romantic. My absolute favourite line is:
I parted ways with my Strawberry G3 many moons ago and never looked back. Until last night when I made the ceremonious switch back. Back to Mac.
Anyway this is my first little hiccup. I did my maths and thought I had it worked out. Three tries later I have exceeded my three tries. And now I am curious. Who did I find sexy enough at that point in my life to immortalize into a password?
I really love the resulting images from a photo shoot I did with Peter Morrissey the other day. This is my second shoot with talented up and coming photographer Benjamin Ruhe. I’m a huge fan of his work! This photoshoot marks a new chapter personally as well as for Akina. We are starting the next leg of our journey which will be focused on the Churchill Fellowship in Tokyo. Can’t believe it is finally happening in just a few short weeks!
Peter Morrissey and I are also filming a documentary together in mid May. So much things and stuff coming up. How will I sleep?
Chances are…. cos I wear a silly grin…. the moment you come into view.
To my beautiful sister Aleks, to over two decades of silly grins, push pops, goody goody gum drops, tears and laughter, thick and thin. Happy Birthday! Love you! xox
Kids Of Today was supergreat, so much fun! This is the biggest thing I have ever been part of, ever. So it was a really special night for me. The event had an amazing turn out, the queue to get in was crazy and there were points in the night where they had to refuse entry.
Got to meet some of the other amazing artists. Didn’t think in a million years I’d ever get to exhibit my work alongside them. Unreal!
